I was invited by nydc to sample their Christmas 2011 menu. Their special offering this year is this Hearty Christmas Roast platter set (S$98++) for 4 people. It consists of:

  • 1 herbed roasted chicken
  • marbled sirloin steak
  • 2 spicy bratwurst & 1 pork cheese sausage, served with sauerkraut
  • onion rings with BBQ sauce

Ever since Baby Matilda came along, I haven’t had much time or energy to cook. Being a first-time mother is an unimaginably overwhelming and exhausting experience! Butter rolls with ham & tomato

Ham and tomato — a classic pairing that never fails to satisfy.

This morning’s homemade breakfast was quick and easy to assemble, and very satisfying to eat!

  1. Split butter roll (from Four Leaves Bakery).
  2. Spread interior with butter.
  3. Stuff with sliced tomato and shaved honey cured ham.

These mini ham & tomato rolls are also great for a packed lunch or picnic!

This is what entices me to return to Ji De Chi time and time again.

Of all the durian pomelo sago desserts I’ve tried, Ji De Chi’s version is the most memorable by far. Rich, creamy bittersweet durian mousse topped with a scoop of pure durian pulp, Ji De Chi’s durian pomelo sago is the thickest version I’ve come across. It’s almost like eating the real fruit!

The sago pearls and pomelo sacs are there for extra texture, but frankly, I’m just as happy without them. I’ve tried a few of the other signature desserts at Ji De Chi, but this is the only one that I can’t get out of my head. Continue Reading »

Penang Place

Hubby the fanboy wanted to check out Paradigm Infinitum‘s new branch at Fusionopolis, that’s how we ended up here one Saturday.

Fresh salads section

Having moved from International Business Park, the ever popular Penang Place buffet restaurant is still packing the crowds in. Despite its cavernous interior, the restaurant was full house when we came here for Saturday lunch. Thank goodness we had made reservations in advance, otherwise we might not have scored a table.
