Interrupting my Tweed posts with this Singapore food post. I’ve never really been a big fan of lor mee, but when I see a good one, I can’t resist. Tiong Bahru Lor Mee is one of the better ones around.
Velvety smooth, the gravy isn’t overly salty and is enhanced with a slight herbal aroma.
I also like the toppings which are fresh and plentiful. The noodles and gravy are complemented with braised hard-boiled egg, braised pork belly slices, ngoh hiang slices, fish cake, and fried wonton. The S$3.00 portion comes with two large pieces of fish fritters. Very satisfying indeed!
