ToTT celebrated their 3rd anniversary with a BIG bang! Kicking off the month-long celebration was possibly Singapore’s biggest blind-tasting challenge, which took place on October 5th.
Unfortunately, I was unable to participate in the 2-hour challenge cos I had to mind my two little rascals. But I was there to witness all the fun!
First 3 images are courtesy of the event organizer.
Each participant was blindfolded throughout the challenge.
They had to taste 20 ingredients (provided by Jasons The Gourmet Grocer), and 5 dishes (gravies or sauces were taken from the dish) from ToTT Bistro.
After tasting, they had 30 seconds to write down their answers (while blindfolded) on a whiteboard.
I chatted with Camemberu, Keropokman, and cooksnapeatlove who took part in the challenge. They said the first few items were easy, eg. grape, banana. Then it got more challenging, with ingredients like raw avocado, teriyaki sauce, and basil leaf.
But there was an undisputed winner — Ms Praise Naguit who walked away with S$3,333 worth of ToTT products and a S$200 hamper from Jasons The Gourmet Grocer.
After the challenge, I took my kids and mother-in-law around the newly revamped store. ToTT really is a gourmet cook’s dream kitchen store.
I told my mom-in-law that every time I come here, I never walk out empty-handed! Especially this time, when there’s so many attractive discounts!
Peter The Rabbit cupcake cases, toppers, and paper cups — these would make for a great Peter The Rabbit theme party.
Hello Kitty fans, now you know where to get Hello Kitty cupcake cases and toppers!
These birthday candles are so whimsical!
So cute and colorful!
Cookbooks going at 30% discount! Buy!
Silicon moulds. I think these are going at 10% discount.
I was amazed at the variety of Nordic Ware pans here. Nordic Ware is the original maker of the famous Bundt cake pan, and their baking tins are known for long-lasting quality.
I couldn’t resist and bought my very first Nordic Ware bundt pan!
Another item on my wishlist is a Microplane zester. We always see those TV chefs using this to grate lemon zest or parmesan cheese. But it’s not cheap; one is about S$28. But now they are going at 25% discount! I quickly grabbed one!
There were fun demos in the store too.
And also balloon sculptures for kids…
…as well as face painting.
See my two little imps, they are so thrilled with their balloon sculptures!
And here’s my first cake baked with my new Nordic Ware bundt pan. Doesn’t it look effortlessly gorgeous? And I used my new Microplane zester to grate the orange zest for this orange chocolate bundt cake. It really is a breeze to use! The zester shaves the zest very finely, and doesn’t cut into the white bitter pith. Definitely a worthwhile investment!
