Mid-Autumn Festival 2012: Mooncakes from Crystal Jade

Crystal Jade Premium Gold Treasure (S$88/4 pieces) and Kindred Bliss (S$22/4 pieces)

Just five days to go before Mid-Autumn Festival! Have you all prepared your mooncakes for this Sunday’s (September 30) celebration?

Received quite a few samples of mooncakes this year, and Crystal Jade’s selection is one of the more unique offerings. Particularly memorable are the yogurt pudding mooncakes, newly launched this year.

Yogurt mousse mooncakes

These chilled dessert mooncakes come in a box of four — Kindred Bliss (S$22.00 for 4 pieces). The four flavors are:

  1. Mixed Berries (purple)
  2. Mango (yellow)
  3. Apple (green)
  4. Original with Nata de Coco (white)

Refreshing and not too sweet, these fruity jelly mooncakes will make a delightful dessert or all-day snack. We especially enjoyed the Nata de Coco and Mango flavors.

Gold Leaf White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk

For the traditionalists in our family, their favorite was the baked White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk. The paste was smooth without being too cloying or too sweet, and the yolks were fresh and creamy. There’s even the Gold Leaf version that comes in a beautiful, limited edition Premium Gold Treasure set, which has four individual silk boxes.

Crystal Jade’s Premium Gold Treasure set (S$88 for 4 pieces) comprises:

  1. Gold Leaf White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk
  2. Gold Leaf Red Lotus Paste with Double Yolk
  3. Gold Leaf Plain White Lotus Paste
  4. Gold Leaf Mixed Nuts and Ham

These mooncakes will be available at most Crystal Jade outlets from now till 30 September 2012. Orders and enquiries can be made via Crystal Jade mooncake hotline: 6512 0800 (Mon to Fri: 9am – 6pm).

Many thanks to Crystal Jade Culinary Concepts Holding for the mooncake samples.
