Hot cross buns! Hot cross buns!
One a penny two a penny – hot cross buns!

Boy does this bring back memories! When I was a kid, I recited this nursery rhyme, all the while wondering, “What do hot cross buns look and taste like?” Back then, we didn’t enjoy as wide a variety of foreign culture foods as we do now.

Anyway, I got these hot cross buns at Epidor (Raffles City basement), but they’re also sold at Four Leaves bakeries. I think they’re only available during Easter.

Tasted like normal buns with raisin, candied citrus, and spices. The dough was a little dry, and the dried fruit rather skimpy. Should have served them toasted with butter.

Have a Happy Easter, everyone! Hope you enjoy the long weekend! πŸ˜€
