Gosh, it’s been a year since we last ordered in pizza! Firstly, we’re not big fans of pizza. Secondly, delivery pizza in Singapore isn’t that fantastic. It’s relatively expensive too, especially when I can have a $3.00 take-out meal of chicken rice just a 5-minute walk away.

Dial 6-241-0-241, and you'll get two for one, oh, two for one!
But, there are days when one is too lazy to cook or go buy take-out in the blazing midday sun. And one can also tire of chicken rice, if consumed too often, delicious though it may be.
The pizzas from Canadian Pizza took 1 hour and 7 minutes to arrive, even though the operator had said delivery would take between 45 minutes to an hour. As a result, the pizzas were barely warm. A quick zap in the microwave did the trick. I like my pizzas piping hot.

Canadian Classic, regular 10".
Here’s exhibit A the first pizza: the Canadian Classic.

Smoked turkey bacon, beef pepperoni, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, and onions.
This was a safe but boring choice. Couldn’t really pick out the distinction between the bacon and pepperoni. They were skimpy on the tomato sauce; would have tasted better with more. The sauce was also lacking in robustness.

Here’s a closer view if you’re interested in further scrutiny.

Tandoori Chicken, regular 10".
Here’s exhibit B the second pizza: the Tandoori Chicken.

Spiced tandoori chicken, onions, mushrooms, and fresh tomatoes.
This had sounded interesting, and I wasn’t disappointed. The tandoori chicken was mildly spicy and quite tender. It was nicely complemented by the sweet onion.
I thought the mushrooms were out of place here. Green peppers would have been a good substitute. Otherwise, they could have upped the amount of onion and tomatoes; I could barely make the veggies out.

Overall, the pizzas were passable. The amount of toppings was fairly generous, but not as much as that of Rite Pizza’s. One grouse I have is that the ingredients were too chunkily cut; perhaps that’s why the distribution of the toppings wasn’t as even as it should have been.
The pizza dough, though soft and quite light, was a little too thick for my liking. Pizza Hut has the same phenomenon. This is one of the reasons I don’t enjoy delivery pizza. The dough is too much like bread.
In terms of value, Canadian Pizza beats Pizza Hut hands down. The latter’s 12″ pizza is SGD$24.90 pre-GST (for the Supremes range), whereas Canadian Pizza’s 12″ pizza is SGD$28.90 nett, but you get two pizzas, making them SGD$14.45 each.
Canadian Pizza is moderately decent. However, if Rite Pizza is still as good as I remember, they’d be my first choice.
Total bill for two regular 10″ pizzas was SGD$21.90 nett.

I think that’s a common problem, not being able to distinguish bacon from pepperoni on mass-produced pizzas.
Personally, I’m a fan of almost-no sauce pizzas, but that’s just me!
Tandoori chicken? What a great idea! And you’re right; mushrooms are miscast here. But I love new pizza-topping ideas, so I may have to give this one a try.
I used to love Pizza Hut, but now I think the crust base is too doughy, and also too greasy.
We make them at home, but it’s never the same, is it?
Tandoori Chicken Pizza sounds like a good one…
As an answer to a comment on the Rite Pizza post:
Rocky Pizza still exists
I still order from them (I really hate the Pizza Hut american type of crust, yucks).
I think they have only one shop now (they used to have east and west).
Quality is not the same as the beginning, but they are still the only one with an ok crust (other solution for me it to call Spizza and go and get it myself).
Here is the numbers I have for Rocky (can’t rememeber if both work)
East: +65 63446868
West: +65 64689188
Yes, we have them in KL too and they do offer good value. We usually eat at the outlet since we like the pizzas piping hot.
the Rite Pizza page is the one dat introduces me to ur foodblog. =) tried both Canadian and Rite. Found Rite to be more affordable and yummy. Rite have a 2for1 promotion for both regular and large and if you order on monday(>$15), there’s a free side order. it’s a Holland Drive so it took abt 30 mins delivery for me. Don’t know about others though. And i do agree with the crust, Rite’s “thin ‘N’ crunchy” is still my fave.
For pizza delivery (which our unhealthy household relies on at least once a month), we switched to Sarpino’s over a year ago and have never looked back
